Opening for Beninghove’s Hangmen.
On Friday, July 1st, Afroskull literally takes the party UNDER the streets! We’re bringing the monster prog-funk to The Lively, a unique new live music venue in NYC’s meatpacking district.
Afroskull’s first set of 2016 begins at 8:30pm, and we’ll be followed by Beninghove’s Hangmen, a “creeptastic surf-noir” group featuring some of John Zorn’s co-conspirators. Our own set will feature the classic Afroskull NYC rhythm section of Joe Scatassa (guitar), Matt Iselin (keys), Bearded Jon Stonbely (bass) and Jason Isaac (drums) along with the latest incarnation of the Horns of Doom. You don’t want to miss this great night of heavy music!
What’s this, two shows in a single calendar year? Can it be true??? Yes, Afroskull fans, it’s true. We’re back for more funk and frivolity at Fontana’s, 10pm on July 31st. Come early for dumplings, stay late for the funk.
Join us Friday, April 10th for a NOLA-themed night at the Rock Shop as Afroskull unleashes the monster funk for the first time in nearly a year. The show also features the groovy Americana sounds of Brooklyn’s own The Sometime Boys, along with the pop-influenced rock of Little Maker direct from New Orleans.
Advance tickets are available from Ticketfly for only $10! goo.gl/0cNWEL
